Projects
Showcasing the past projects that I was previously in charge of, inclusive of school projects and event proposals.

School Projects
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) Seminar
Role-played as a teenager who previously had the experience of MDD and how I seek solutions to recover from depression.
Taught the audience on signs and symptoms to distinguish people who have poor mental health and ways that they can prevent themselves from being victims.
Adult Nursing Care Plan
Interviewed our target audience to understand the background and common difficulties that the aged group were facing.
From the issues that surfaced, my group were to create a personalised care plan for my client.
Innovative Workshop
Looking at most elderlies with depend on walking down the stairs, my team designed and created an innovative walking aid that has the ability for the elderly to lean on the wall and refrain from falling easily.
My role is taking charge of pointing out the problems in the current walking aids found in the healthcare industry and designing how I can add all the functions into a simple walking aid.

School Events
Freshmen Orientation 2024
Being the Student Mentor Lead for Freshmen Orientation 2024, my role was to lead the rest of the student mentors who are guiding the newcomers into our school. During the event, there were times when I needed to solve problems such as fresh men not feeling well/ activities not going as planned.
Apart from being the lead on the event day, I was involved in the back-end work such as the costumes, venues, activities, and training for the volunteers.
Dragons of Berk Welcoming Party
Being the Overall in charge of my school's club welcome party, I was involved with leading the different departments for the activities, logistics and publicity. Every big and small detail of the event was closely monitored by my team, and I had to liaise with the teachers on the venues, the food catering and the number of participants.
Dragon of Berks being the first event that I took charge of, it was a big challenge to me but at the same time, it was a significant memory in the school club because of the things I learned and the people I met that walked through the challenge with me. Overall, the event was a success, and many participants gave positive feedback to the committee for planning the welcome party.
Project Rejuvenate 2024 collaboration with Teck-ghee CC
Project Rejuv project was a collaboration with the Teck-ghee CC to help clean up and re-paint the resident's house in Teck-ghee. With the help of over 400 student helpers, we managed to clear more than 100 houses for the old residents.
As the representative of my school, I was in charge of liaising with the main committees and help around with a few groups of students with the cleaning up.

Polyforum 2024
Polyforum 2024 was truly a memorable event that I participated in and met many other leaders all over the different polytechnics. As a representative of my school to participate in this 6-day 5-night training, we went around many places like Nippon Koi Fish Farm to understand Singapore's food population growth, Geylang Serai to promote total defence to the residents, Army Camp to experience diverse terrains, and Down-Town East cinema to present what we have learned throughout the 6 days camp and how we can continue to promote total defence to the nation.
What I loved most about the Polyforum was the performance they prepared for the students and the Social Night for students to network with one another around Down-Town East. The friends that I made from this event have really helped me in networking and sharing knowledge with one another. Even after the training camp ended, our friendship still stayed strong, and we shared around what was happening in our schools.
After the training camp, I was honoured to write about my experiences and get featured on NYP's SHSS website. So, if you are interested in finding out more about the eventful things I have been through, you can click on the link!

Japan OET
8 days Overseas Educational Trip was another significant memory I had at Nanyang Polytechnic. Over 8 days in Tokyo, Japan, teachers from NYP brought us to Teikyo University of Science to learn about their culture and differences in nursing healthcare. Given the chance, we were brought to two private hospitals and an eldercare centre to visit and see the differences in the pieces of equipment they use and the healthcare they equip. My favourite experience from the trip was their university students who brought us around Tokyo and tried their Japanese cuisine. On the last two days of the trip, the friends that I met from the trip took me to Harry Potter's Land and Disney Land to have fun. It was my first overseas trip with the school, and it was truly a trip in which I had fun, learned a lot and am willing to try again if I have the chance!

Clinical Feedback
Comments that I received from the past clinical attachments.
Lance is an observant and gentle student. He is helpful and hardworking; he will definitely help if needed. He is a keen learner and will ask staffs or CI if in doubt. He did well for his case study and was receptive to feedback. He has shown great knowledge about the disease during posting. Encourage him to continue his good work and improve more on critical thinking. Good Job!
Nguyen Trong Khoi
Senior Staff Nurse/CI, Sengkang General Hospital 14/04/24
Lance has been cheerful, polite and respectful towards the staff and patients alike. A keen learner, he stays on task with minimal supervision. Appointed as the student leader for this posting, he has been proactive in seeking opportunities for clinical skills and practises.
